Waltham Forest Bilingual Group is a voluntary group run by parents of bilingual children.

Active members are invited to contribute by a small yearly contribution of £12 (£6 for unwaged families) and we rely on public grants to cover the remaining cost of our activities. All of our activities are free to anyone interested in multilingual issues. However we may from time to time request a small contribution by non-members for participating to certain events. If you wish to become a member or simply support our group, please fill in the form which you can download below.

In October 2007, the Esmee FairBairn Foundation approved 3 annual grants as a contribution to encourage our work in helping parents support their childrens learning of languages. This grant covers our expenses to hire the Limes Childrens's and Community Centre where we hold our monthly drop-in session.

In September 2007, Awards for All agreed to award another grant to WFBG to compile, analyse and edit a book about bilingualism. We have now completed the draft and are in the process of finalising the draft for publication. Read more about this project

We obtained our first lottery grant form Awards for all in 2003 which allowed us to invite several guest speakers as well as help finance our local monthly drop-in events.

We also received smaller contributions from BT as well as Thames Housing association to encourage our work.
